My comment: Thank you, again, Mr. Basile, for providing this important information on how our Douglassville and Birdsboro Community can support and help the school district! Mr. Basile, the Vice President of the Daniel Boone School Board, is extremely open and welcoming of cost-cutting and revenue-enhancing ideas from the community. Please pass the information on to any friend, neighbor or community member who has an interest in seeing Daniel Boone School District strive for success! Thank you! Please email Mr. Basile at basile@dboone.org and consider attending the next Revenue Enhancement Committee!

What would be very helpful is if Parents and Community Members could pick up on these ideas and provide additional insight and/or come to the table with different ideas that have not yet been suggested. The committee would then place those folks in charge of those ideas to do some of the research and work with administration to develop them for Committee consideration and hopefully, ultimately, Board approval.
The ideas do not need to be earth shaking…….. cutting back on paper use in classrooms, as one young woman suggested at the Committee of the Whole meeting last Monday is an example of a GREAT idea that, though seems small, in the aggregate, can have a significant impact on a district of this size. Think about the reams of paper saved, the print cartridges saved, the wear and tear on printers (and their replacement), labor savings in IT department servicing printers, and so on. Now multiply that from that one classroom across all the classrooms of the District. The savings are significant.
If we can get parents, teachers, administrators, and students thinking the same way- the rewards for the District would be immense. Once the idea is germinated, it needs to be supported, and the person who provided it needs to be empowered to pursue it and be recognized for providing it.
Cost avoidance is just as important as revenue generation.
The Revenue Enhancement Committee is looking forward to working with you, learning from you, and exploring great ideas together in the days ahead!
